Derek Scott graduated from the Queens University of Belfast in 1991 with a First Class Honours Degree in Environmental Planning and in 1992 with a post-graduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning.
Prior to entering private practice in 1996 he served periods of employment with the Planning Service in the Department of the Environment (Northern Ireland), Kilmarnock and Loudoun District Council (now East Ayrshire Council) and Gordon District Council (now Aberdeenshire Council). He is a member of both the Royal Town Planning and Irish Planning Institutes.
Derek Scott Planning was formed in 2003 and since then has provided specialist town planning and development consultancy advice on a wide range of planning, development and environmental matters to clients throughout the UK and Ireland operating from offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dunfermline.
A wide range of experience has been gained over the years in both large and small scale projects, during which time a reputation has been established for offering a personal, tailored and professional service on all commissions undertaken.
